New to this

I'm completely new to all this as I'm a Kiwi (New Zealander) -however, now that I'm teaching at an American international school in Europe, I am able to apply for US government grants. I have recently been asked by a staff member to look into any grants that could help us get musical instruments for the elementary school here. I really had no idea where to start and then this network gets started - great job, Karen.

I'll read all I can find here, but if anyone can throw me a link or two to get me started, I would be very grateful.

What a fascinating position! I am not a music teacher, but I have heard about "play it again" grants that donate instruments to elementary schools. Have you googled anything worthwhile?

Be sure to check out www.grantwrangler.com, our grant listing service and search for arts grants. We tend to focus on US grants, but they may apply to your school.

Good luck! Playing an instrument during my school years is one of my fondest memories.
