My name is Cynthia and I am new to grant writing. I have a Master of Social Work degree and have worked in a variety of positions over the past 15 years, but never grant writing. Just recently, I've taken the plunge to get a consultant business going by doing volunteer grant writing for an after school program. I would be happy to get advice from anyone who is an independet contractor.
I have worked as a secondary school teacher and LEA grant writer for more than 21 years. I have held a position on several local civic and NPO boards and volunteers as the President of the Dollars for Scholars Foundation in Idaho. I bring an extensive career in grant writing and management, as I has been responsible for securing over $25 million in the past 14 years. I have volunteered as a grant reviewer for the Department of Education, Health and Human Services and facilitated numerous grant proposal-writing workshops for such entities as the Albertson Foundation and the Drug Free Magic Valley School Board

I've been writing grants and related material since 1994. In today's difficult economy, effective grantsmanship and the ability of institutions to make a persuasive, compelling case for support will be more important than ever. A well-written and solidly structured proposal can mean a world of difference during a competitive review process.

I've helped institutions such as the University of Michigan-Dearborn, Summa Health System (Akron, OH), World Relief and St. Mary's of Michigan (Saginaw, MI) obtain critical support from foundations, corporations and government funders. This year, my grantwriting services have been in demand more than ever before.

I would be happy to discuss your goals and challenges related to grant funding, and work with you to develop a workable plan for obtaining resources. My experience includes clients both large and small, as well as local, regional and national organizations on both coasts -- distance is not an issue!

I am currently a board member of my local chapter of the Association of Fundraising Professionals. I also assist organizations (non-profits and corporations) with other critical communications functions including public relations, direct mail, web content and case statements. I'd love to apply that experience to your biggest challenges.

Hello all! My introduction:

Ann provides grant consulting, writing and program evaluation services for clients throughout the U.S. She specializes in writing governmental proposals for social service, education, and healthcare organizations. Her favorite funded project dealt with bringing the topic of spirituality into medical education curriculum.

She’s from Providence, RI and now lives in San Juan Capistrano, Southern California and Mexico. She works with clients throughout the United States, enjoying the flexibility that technology allows, as she frequently travels between both coasts.

Before launching her consulting business 8 years ago, she worked with Brown University and Loma Linda University Medical Center (LLUMC) as a Director of Academic Development. She continues to serve as adjunct faculty for the Department of Family Medicine at LLUMC. She also serves as California State Representative for the American Association of Grant Professionals.

She holds degrees in Adult Education and Ministry and enjoys coaching others to become successful grant writers and consultants. Her clients say that she makes the grant writing process “an uncharacteristically enjoyable experience” for everyone involved.

To your success!
Ann

Hello, I'm Suzan Hayden and need a grant writer to help my business partner and myself to develop a business plan (which we already have in our heads, but need to write it out correctly) and grant writer to help us receive funding to buy a building in town to turn into a school. We already have various teachers interested. The school would be a metaphysical school and have teachers teaching everything from Reiki to Tai Chi to Reflexology to Astrology to Massage, plus so much more. So far I've found the National Grant Conference willing to do both the business plan and grant writing, but they want $1000 which we don't have a the moment. My business partner already has had a metaphysical school in Arizona and Minnesota. Please help or if you know of someone who can help us please send them to us.
