Funding for global projects?

Does anyone know of funding resources for global school projects? Also, curious to know if anyone is aware of foundations that support larger global awareness initiatives in schools. Any ideas would be appreciated!

I'd suggest the following link--http://www.fundsnetservices.com/showcats.php?sbcat_id=10 as it has a substantial listing of foundations in a number of countries for grants. www.fundsnet.com is the original site and an excellent resource.
