Outdoors, Health, and Physical Education (PE) Grants

Spring is here and so are grant opportunities to improve the health and physical well-being of children. Need equipment for your school fitness program? Resources for a health curriculum? Ideas for teaching a health and physical education course? Grant Wrangler lists a number of these grant resources.

If you're applying (or thinking of applying) for a health or physical education grant, let us know. Applying for a grant of any size is an involved process - we'd love to know about your experience. Or if you've already won a grant of this nature, feel free to tell us about it! We love a good success story.

Hi-
How do I go about applying for such a grant for a 64-acre campsite that provides residential nature-based, teambuilding & leadership, programs for underserved youth. Im would like to create an outdoor ropes corse. We are faithbased (service extention of the Church) but non-secterian. It is not a school, but service poor youthand families of IPS and various Townships in Indiana. Also we have a very good relationship/partnership with the Andrew J Brown Chartered school (Indianapolis IN/Marion County): Generally these grants are for schools??? How can I do this for a campsite.
Please see: www.EbenezerERCI.org to gain insight about our project.
Thanks-A-Bunch, Paula Rivera, Director; Operations/Programs
I would find a way to directly involve the school and then apply for grants as a collaborative partnership. Perhaps some of their older stuents could help design the ropes course as a science and math activity.
Thank you. That is a good Idea.

How do I go about getting funding for my high school para military drill team. they kids are hard working and dedicated but in order to compete effectively they need to be outfitted and equipped . Over all I work with about 40 kids therefor in order to do uniform them properly I need a fairly sizable grant.
the kids are taught discipline respect and the real meaning of hard work.at the same time they are have an outlet for their creativity through the many rhythmic drills that they are taught.
I would be grateful for any information that anyone has on getting real funding for such a group...

I plan on applying for a Physical Education grant for our school K-8. We have NO sports equipment for
our students. They have no equipment to use for P.E. We can't even have any school sports programs this year because we don't have any equipment. We are a small, poor rural school of 103 students. Our county is the 10th poorest in the U.S. We desperately need sports equipment for our students to participate in sports activities.
When will you be excepting grant applications again?
What county are you in?
