Playground Shade structure and makeover
I am looking for grants that would help my son's school get a shade structure, and more playground equipment. It is a public school with around 300 students K-6. There are no shade trees for the kids to get shelter from the damage of the sun.

I thought I saw one for shade covers about a month ago from a skin care company - either a company that makes sun screen or a company that makes skin creams... sorry I don't recall the specifics!

The SHADE Foundation of America used to give grants but doesn't seem to anymore. They now have a contest where you enter an essay about your shade cover needs (http://www.shadefoundation.org/programs/shade-covers/) and currently it looks like they are directly giving money for shade covers in AZ only.

What city/state are you in? In Houston, Texas, we have SPARK parks, which are a program of our Mayor's office. If you are in a large city, start there.
