Hello everyone! I am desperately looking for someone to volunteer their expertise to write a grant for a non-profit wildlife rescue. We do also provide educational programs to local schools in our area. I know I am not "K-12", but this looked like a really great site to ask people about grant writing. Thank you in advance for any help and allowing me to post this here.
My name is Vida L. Avery, Ph.D., and I am the Resource Development Manager over the Texas Center for Grants Development (TCGD), Resource Development Division of Harris County Department of Education. TCGD provides grant-related services and products for educators, nonprofit, faith-based and community-based organizations. As a part of the Resource Development Division of Harris County Department of Education, our staff has written small foundation proposals to multi-million dollar public grants.
As the TCGD manager, I have assisted and worked closely with educators, nonprofit, faith-based, and community-based organizations bringing in over $55 million for the Houston/Harris County area. My experiences range from managing $3 million in educational and community grants as a program officer of a foundation, six years in research, philanthropy and grant writing, to having 11 years of experience as a middle school teacher and two years experience as an adjunct professor.
If you would like to learn more about TCGD’s grant-related services and products, please contact me.

I'm an independent (external) program evaluator (www.eval.org), and over the past five years I managed the evaluation of a state grant that funded over one-hundred alternative education programs serving students in nearly 500 school districts in Ohio (http://cle.osu.edu/wp-content/uploads/2006year-endreport.pdf).
As a consultant, most of my grant writing has been as co-author with school personnel who requested technical assistance in grant writing as well as successfully implementing and/or evaluating their programming. I very much enjoy working collaboratively on such projects.
I'm always looking for new opportunities to collaborate with schools and/or school districts. I enjoy helping build local capacity, and I specialize in creating low-cost, sustainable, local evaluation systems that inform quality improvement and provide information useful for future grant writing.
If you are interested, check out the Website listed below or send me your name and email address via the form on my GrantWrangler page:

Hello! I am a semi-retired educator and have written and secured a few grants in my educational career. I write a blog at http://kcaise.wordpress.com discussing technology tools and issues centered around instructional technology. I have been an educator for the past 20 years and in 2006 became a national board certified teacher in CATE with a specialty in technology education. I look forward to talking, collaborating and learning online with everyone here!
