My Grant Wrangler

Just curious about the types of things everyone has tried or obtained for their classroom? I teach in a middle school resource room for students with special needs in reading, written expression and math.

I tied DonorsChoose.org, thinking that it was a long shot because I am not in a high poverty area but I was able to get 3 proposals funded. I got a laptop, markers, storage boxes, a presentation remote and a cart that I can use when I travel from room to room.
I am a middle school librarian. I just for a Smart Board with Document Camera for one of my math teachers. Also, or the library, I got books (obviously), listening stations, ebooks, and studentmate computers.
I just got a class set of the LIvescribe Pulse Smartpen
DonorsChoose.org is a great program! Before writing a proposal, be sure to visit the Donors Choose matching funds page for each State. This site will help you write your proposal in order to get up to 50% funded through corporate sponsors. Additionally, most schools who are not high-need have more parents who are willing to support the classroom. Linking your proposal to your facebook, your school website, PTA newsletters, etc will help your funding opportunities. Once it gets going, it is difficult to slow down.
