Julie,
Some of our Consortium members have used the myCampus portal to do exactly what you have described at a high-level. You may want to look into putting a portal into place. This can act as a central repository for all of the documents, videos, etc for your virtual campus. It would also give them a central location to access all of your systems beyond Blackboard such as e-mail. Providing live chat and virtual communities can give them a sense of a true school community with other students as well as their teachers where they can ask questions and receive feedback. I'd encourage you to look at www.campuseai.org/grant-program for more information on our grant and message me back if you'd like to chat about your specific needs and requirements! I hope this helps!
