State Farm YAB Members Get Scholarships and More

In June, State Farm gave 17 young men and women the chance to make an impact in their communities by welcoming them into the highly-regarded Youth Advisory Board (YAB). As members of the YAB, the inductees will receive a $3,000 scholarship and the opportunity to oversee $5 million awarded each year to service-learning projects across the nation.

The new members are between the ages of 17 and 20 and were selected from over 300 applicants. They will commit 15 hours a month to the board virtually, convene four times throughout the year, and join existing members in distributing grants to youth-oriented nonprofits. In the past, the board has awarded grants to address disaster preparedness, driver safety, financial education, environmental responsibility, and access to higher education.
